Hey Eric the wifes Birthday is coming up next month and wanted to get her some of your wine.
Recommendations? Any specific questions I should ask her about her preferences to get a good match? And what are your price ranges?

Hey DA,
Thanks for thinking of me for this. My wines are fairly similar -- pretty big, long finish, lots of flavor, very dry. If you have noticed her liking higher end red wines, mine should be perfect for her. The 2 wines I have are Malbec ($42) and Petite Sirah ($38). I hope that is in the price range you are looking for. If you order on my website, I will recognize the name and give you the 10% FF discount. (It won't show up in the original charge, but I would change it before processing)
If you ask her what her favorite type of wine is, and she says (A) I would recommend (B): (a) Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot, Malbec (b) my Malbec (a) Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel (b) my Petite Sirah
But I think she would appreciate the fact that you can say its from a friend's winery in California. Women eat that stuff up! Then they yell at you for no reason. ;D

If it matters I enjoy his Petite Sirah slightly more than the Malbec. A little fuller and smoother.
Looking forward to the Merlot!!!!

Sweet thanks Eric. I'll likely order a bottle of each in the next two weeks.

I decided that since the wife has never tried it before that it would be better to start off with one bottle.
Order placed.

Thanks DA. I will ship it out tomorrow. I hope you both enjoy it! Yes sir I'll give it a try even though I am not a wine guy. Maybe I just need a good upscale wine to get me going?

One more question for you Eric. How much did it cost to acquire a license to ship alcohol via UPS or Fedex?

There were not many costs directly attributed to UPS or FedEx. The main costs are business licenses, LLC fees, and the many, many taxes and costs with alcohol as a product. It's tough to give an exact amount, but the initial stuff is very high.

I ask as I trade beer with people all over the country and fedex rejected my shipment one time based on it being alcohol with no license.
