Poor JO
Southern Mississippi's DeAndre Brown, who was the nation's leading freshman receiver last year before suffering a broken leg in gruesome fashion during the New Orleans Bowl, was ahead of schedule for his recovery. But that timetable appears it's going to be altered.
A source inside the Southern Miss program says Brown recently decided to play some basketball and aggravated the injury. After meeting with doctors, Brown is back in a boot and probably will be in it for the next 10 days.
Coaches say that he is likely to miss the opener against Alcorn State, but they hope he'll be back for the Golden Eagles' second game, against Central Florida.
The 6-foot-6, 230-pound sophomore caught a Southern Mississippi school-record 67 passes for 1,117 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2008.

sucks for Brown. He is a bad ass when healthy. it's scary that if he hurt his leg during a pick up game of b-ball, what's going to happen when he plays tackle football? again, sucks for Brown.

More updates
Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora issued the following statement on wide receiver DeAndre Brown's leg injury: "DeAndre is still on pace in his recovery. He has been working extremely hard and pushing his way through rehab. He developed some soft tissue swelling around the fracture site in his leg and we decided to back him off and put him back in a boot to avoid any setbacks. He, though, is still on the same timetable and we are looking to have him back at the start of the season."
Brown's latest setback is definitely still concerning for fantasy owners, and we will need to be monitored closely when camp opens up in August.

Putting it back in a boot is NOT a good sign. No way if that happened that he can still be on the same timetable to return.

I was bugging DA for about a week asking if you had told him who you were keeping cause I was praying that you weren't gonna keep Anderson. He was the reason I traded away Keenum to move up in the 1st and keep Starks instead. Figured a Starks/Anderson combo would be unreal. ![>:(](http://dynastyrogues.com/forum/images/smiles/help.gif)
